Instructions for Using Replica Tape

Prepare
Use cleaning putty to remove dust, debris, or residual blast media from the measurement area. Firmly press the putty onto the surface using your fingers, then peel it away.

Burnish
Choose the appropriate grade of replica tape, remove a single piece from its release paper, and apply it to the blasted surface. Use a burnishing tool to compress the replica film, applying firm pressure in a circular and x-y rubbing motion. Once burnishing is complete, carefully remove the tape from the surface.

Measure
Place the compressed replica tape between the micrometer's measurement anvils and take a reading. Ensure the tape is correctly positioned, with the burnished region centered between the anvils and the adhesive side facing down.
